    SOME 6MM BR LOADS

Varmint Reloading Guide for 6mm BR Norma, 6BR, 6 Improved Dasher, 6mm Varminting Hunters with Powder Loads, Message Board, Free Targets, Hunting Supplies

LONG BARREL LIKELY HIGER PRESSURE THAN A AK SHOULD BE RUN AT. HOWEVER ILL HAVE ABOUT 3 GRAINS MORE CASE CAPACITY SO I SHOULD BE ABLE TO MAKE UP FOR LESS PRESSURE AN SOME OF THE BARREL BEING SHORTER. IM MY BOLT ACTION I BE ABLE TO GET ALL OF THESE LOADS BEAT ( IN THEORY )

WELL IT SEEMS THE BRX AHS BEEN USED IN A AR SO ITS GOOD TO KNOW IT WILL WORK ON THOSE AS WELL. MY VERSION WILL HAVE MORE CAPACITY BUT WILL BE VERY SIMULAR TO A BRX.

HERE IS ALONK WITH A GREAT PICTURE OF A BUNCH OF AR TYPE ROUNDS ALL SIDE BY SIDE. MINE WILL LOOK LIKE THE 6.8 BASED ROUND BUT LARGER IN OD.

    OK BEEN COMPARING CASE CAPACITYS

HERE IS WHAT I HAVE DONT TAKE THESE AS FACT THERE ALL FROM THE INTERNET.

    223 - 30 GR
    7.62X39- 33.98
    308X1.5------37.61
    6MM HAGER---37.5
    6MM BR ------ 38 TO 39
    6MM DASHER --41.3
    6MM BRX------41-42
    6X47----------46.9
    6MM-222-225--46.5
    6.5 GRENDEL--- 35
    6MM PPC---33.8
    6MM AR----36
    6XC--------49.5
    243 WIN --- 52.8

I SHOULD BE ABOUT 12 GRAINS OVER A 7.62X39 AN 15 GRAINS OVER A 6MM-223 AN ABOUT 10 GRAINS UNDER A 234 WIN. THE 243 IMO IS SLIGHTLY OVER BORE SO I FEEL IM IN A GOOD PLACE CAPACITY WISE. THE BRX RUNS SPEEDS ALMOST AS FAST AS THE 243 WITH ABOUT 13 GRAINS LESS POWDER.

IM ESTIMATING MY ROUND TO BE ABOUT 43.5 TO 45 GRAINS WHEN DONE ON CUT 7.62X51 NATO BRASS. CASE THICKNESS AN HOW I REAM THE NECKS , WILL BE A DECIDING FACTOR. IM HOPING TO STAY IN THE 50,000 PSI RANGE OR LESS IN THE AK AN ILL LIKELY SEE 60,000 PLUS ON THE BOLT GUN. WISH I COULD TEST IT. A QUICK LOAD PROGRAM WOULD BE NICE.

GOOD LINK ON CAPACITYS I SWISH I HAD FOUND IT SOONER . THERE IS A LOT OF DIFFERANT CAPACATYS FOR THE SAME CASE FROM MANY SOURCES. FRO EXAMPLE 22-250 IS ALL OVER THE PLACE WITH RANGES FROM 45 T0 50 GRAINS. I NEED TO MEASURE SOME PERSONALY.

    Case Capacities

HOW DO YOU MEASRE GRAINS OF WATER?????????????? I CAN DO CC,S EASY .

INTERESSTING SITE WERE THEY MAKE BR UPPERS FOR AR,S . THEY ARE USIONG BIGGER BOLTS AS EXTENTIONS MADE BY OLYMPIC ARMS.

THEY SELL A SPECIALISED MAG ALSO MADE BY PRI JUST FOR THEM(?)

IF ALL ELSE FAILS I CAN BUY A MAG FROM THEM AN USE A AR ADDAPTER.

THEY ARE USING A CENTER FED MAG THAT IS DOUBLE STACK. IT LIKE A PISTOL MAG.

I CONSIDERED THAT IDEA ALREADY. THE CARRIER WOULD NEED TO NARROWED EVEN MORE TO DO THIS. BASICALY THE REAR OF THE LIPS ARE NARROWER THAN THE ROUND. TO LOAD YOU WOULD NEED TO LOAD LIKE A PISTOL BUY INSERTING THE ROUND IN A FORWARD POSITION AN THEN SLIDING IT BACK UNDER THE LIPS IN THE REAR. THIS WAY THE ROUND CANT POP OUT .

6MM THROATER ON THE WAY. I HOPE TO BE ABLE TO CHAMBER A BARREL THIS WEEK .

100 ROUNDS OF 6MM BR LUPIA BRASS COMING AS WELL.

I CAN DO A ROUND VERY VERY CLOSE TO A 6MM BRX WITH THIS REAMER RAN IN SHALLOW . IT WILL GIVE A LITTLE MORE NECK BUT I SHOULD BE ABLE TO LOAD WITH LUPIA BRASS .

I PLAN TO START WITH A BRX TYPE CASE WITH KNOWN LOADS AVALIABLE TO TEST ACCURACY AN THEN CHAMBER DEEPER AN DEEPER UNTILL i REACH WHAT THE MAG WILL ALLOW OR THE CASE HEAD TO CHAMBER CLEARANCE GETS EXCESSIVE.

I CAN GO 6.5X55 SWEDE BRASS IF THE CLEARANCE BECOMES TO MUCH.

I WANT TO STAY WITH 308 TYPE BRASS TO KEEP COSTS DOWN.

IT LOOKS LIKE A 85 GRAIN BULLET WILL BE DOING ABOUT 3200 FPS BTW AN THE 55 GRAINERS ARE REALLY FAST LIKE IN THE 38OO FPS RANGE. THATS 22-250 SPEEDS WITH A LARGER DIA BULLET

with the small amount of taper I can run the reamer in or out a fair amount. i make brass in differant lengths by holding the dies off the shell holder. I can control the the free bore/throat with my throating reamer an I can controll neck clearance by turning the brass

im hoping to even be able to do a 6.5, 7,AN 30 Cal version of the same reamer with a differant neck an throater or just useing a reamer with a smaller case od. I could use my 308 reamer to do just the neck an throat for example. The rest of the reamer would never touch. IM NOT SURE HOW WELL IT WILL WORK BUT IM GOING TO TRY ON A OLD BARREL.

I have a lot of control over this set up. IF ALL ELSE FAILS I CAN JUST MAKE A 6MM BRX WITH A SLIGHTLY LONGER NECK OR FOR $35 HAVE THE REAMER RECUT TO BRX SPECS EXACTLY . I CAN ALWAYS DO MY BOLT GUNS WITH IT IF I CANT MAKE IT FEED IN A AK OR GET CUT DOWN 308 BRASS TO WORK.

HODGENS NUMBERS FOR A 6MM BR ARE MORE CONSERVITIVE. THERE STILL GOOD.

MY ROUND WILL BE FASTER BUT THESE NUMBERS CONFIRM WHAT IVE BEEN READING .

BENCH REST GUYS ARE CLAIMING 2900 FOR A 115 BULLETS. THEY MUST REALLY PUSH THE PRESSURE IN THEM CUSTOM ACTIONS. I SEE THAT HODGEN LISTS IT AS A REMINGTON ROUND EVEN THOUGH NO ONE USES THE REMINGTON CHAMBER ANYMORE HMMM
