I got on the Suomi thing and I seem to have figured out how I will using the barrels for 9MM AK's. I will build one Suomi to look like it should, but this is an expensive build with a lot of mods and machine work. Not a novice thing at all and I will be farming out the bolt turning and I will have to have someone help me weld the new tube to the new lower.

They are super neat guns though just looking at the kit you can tell they were excellently over made.

That's some fine looking wood on the Suomi kit. I've got some of each. Not sure when I'll ever find time to tackle them as projects though. Those $19.95 Suomi deals are hard to pass up.

very nice.....wood on that PPSH looks to be excellent, any "cartouche" makings on it? how are barrel on those, decent, shot out and pitted to hell, or excellent shape? also are you going to SBR those bad boys? if I had a choice to do one, it would be that PPSH.

Both the Suomi and the PPSH-41 are in excellent shape. I have my doubts the PPSH was ever shot by looking at the barrel.
The only markings on the PPSH stock are the serial numbers. It is an all matching #'s kit btw.

Guys, if you are going to get a PPSH, go with the Nartron kits.... Yeah they are a little more but the trunnions are intact. A new trunnion is $50 from coldsteel so it evens out and you won't have the headache of cutting out the old one and riveting in the new. Plus, the nartron kit comes with a drum, sling, oiler, cleaning rod, and folding screwdriver. There standard grade kits are beautiful.

These guys have the 80% receivers http://www.prexis.com/sten/index.html and lets face it, on a tube gun, 80% is really all you need.

The US parts thing doesnt count on these builds as none of them are considered assault weapons as per 922r. No protruding pistol grip, no threaded barrel.

I also know about the nartron kits but I found out AFTER I had already ordered mine from Centerfire. It all worked out tho as I got my $20.00 Suomi at the same time. Now I'd be kicking myself if Nartron was giving that good of a deal
