Default Where to buy tube blanks.

Hey fellers I'm looking for receiver tube-"blanks". More specifically, I'm looking for a tube for the venerable Beretta M12S. I saw one at the gunshow today, but they wanted $150 for it ! It was a piece of pipe, threaded on both ends ! It had a shitty template glued to it ! NO WAY it was worth $150 !! Surely some of my fellow hack-smith homiez knows where to find something like this, yes ? Please advise !

    Prexis/sten

    http://www.prexis.com/sten/

They are vendor here and I don't think they have that tube, but they do have a request a receiver link. Depending on some of these tubes that can be harder to make than some. I don't kno wthe details on the one you want though.

Mike the owner of Prexis is pretty easy going and will answer your questions.

You can get 4130 tubing from aircraft supply companies. One is Wicks Aircraft Supply.

Another is www.AircraftSpruce.com. They offer a free 670+ page catalog. Price for this tubing varies according to O.D. and thickness. However their price per foot is a heck of a lot less (a fraction) than some receiver blanks sold elsewhere. Free catalog is available at 1-877-4-SPRUCE.

Check for such advertisers in a Kitplane magazine.

You will need to know I.D., O.D., and metal thickness needed for your project.

I purchased 12' of 1.5" x .095" 4130 tubing from Aircraft Spruce. I believe all that was less than $50.00 plus shipping.
