Default sten mag well and reciver.

    all,
I have started to make a sten II fron scrach and all of the prints and photos that I have looked at do not show what holdes the mag box and tube on the reciver. I down loaded the pdf from a vender on this sight, and other stuff from the web but there is no clear means to mount the mag box and tube on the reciver could sombody post a link or photo. thanks muttman

The tube slides over the receiver tube and is secured by the latch pin going into a slot milled into the receiver tube with a deeper hole at each end. That's all that secures it, it is designed so it can be rotated over the ejection port and feed cutout to act as a dustcover. The slot keeps it from moving front to back.

I was hoping it was a simple roll pin or a dowl pin, and it still could be I think. the dust cover would be mute on my build. muttman

If you just have the ones from bighammer you need to do a search. I found some others plus how to build a sten from scratch. I don't remember where but the info is out there.
The mag housing has a pin on the front side. That pin goes through a hole in the receiver into a hole in the barrel bushing and that is how the housing is held in place.
You could do it that way or come up with other ways to hold it in place.

    Default Sten MK II

These might help. One is a simple drawing you can see how mag housing works.
The other one shows much more.
