you need proper licensing to build a supressor, I would suggest you contact a licensed dealer about purchasing one. building one on your own is ileagle and not something anyone here would do.
does anybody have experience building suppressors or have any blueprints for suppressors that actually work. I've only built cans for my .22 and I was looking for a new challenge for my 9mm

OK, I'll ask the dumb question.... Isn't there a difference between a supressor and a silencer? PLEASE - NO jailhouse opinions, but your best FACTS only. - Hell, i have an opinion about this, but I want the 'poop "!
semantics . same thing , different word . suppressor being the more accurate word . either one without a title in your name from the ATF is a felony conviction . BTW , I sold 3 today , nobodys in jail yet . there is a legal, proper way to go about it . bumming prints over the 'net ain't it .

RJF - Thanks for what sounds like a sound (no pun) answer - I thought that there were legal (read that BATFE) hairs split there, and that one was legal, the other wasn't... W&E
if you use subsonic ammo its more of a silencer
if you use off the shelf ammo its just a suppressor ( still have the sonic crack)
as the bullet leaves the gun
they are indeed legal for the homebuilder to make after submitting and receiving an approved form 1 along with a couple of finger print cards and getting local law enforcement in your area to sign the application
Correct... Call your nearest ATF office and they will mail you the forms.Originally Posted by panaceabeachbum

hmmmm - Maybe that's it. I thought that supressor / silencer indicated two different things. Perhaps that is not the case.
