May have been posted, if not another good thread:
On sten tube, semi. Pritty easy to do. Am gona' put iron sights on it and have some fun!
As an update to anyone interested, I have a BATFE approved Suomi barrel takedown and a semi-auto bolt. I mostly post on Weaponeer because my wife is ill and my time is limited. On or about the beginning of September, I will start a buy for the conversion of Suomi bolts. I dearly wish that I had the time to do more posting.
All the Best
Hello all, I am new to this site and the forum. I have 2 Suomi guns... stock, new barrels, shrowed, 70 rnd. drums, all internal parts except the bolt cocking handle and the reciever. Any suggestions on how to get these last two parts. Original parts would be great, but not sure about the whole full auto thing. I would have to make it semi-auto tobe legal. If I could find some where to buy a new receiver I know that would be semi-auto for sure. By the way not up on my lingo, so, what is a Trunnion???? Any input on this build and sources for parts would be great. Thanks guys
The short, short, answer to this is that you need a tube that is smaller I.D. than the original, then a modified bolt that is machined to accept a semi-only trigger, like in an AR.Originally Posted by Spievy
A trunion is AKA a mounting block, and is the part that establishes the connection between the receiver and the barrel.
