    Default Suomi update!

I shot the Suomi today. About 60 rounds total. I still have a few more mods to make to it and a new two stage recoil system before I weld it up and remove the bolts/screw holding on the barrel bushing and jacket. It was pretty sweet to shoot, no recoil to speek of. You could watch where your bullet was hitting because the sights didn't move much when you shot. I need to order the drums now!

Thanks sjohnson, I started out making a sgn-9, but after seeing a suomi and reading about it I switched directions and made this one instead. I have another kit and plan on making that one with the takedown feature.

Thanks Bradrock, I would SBR the next one if I could, but I'm on the wrong side of the Mississippi River from you where things like that are evil.

You just know that, as hard as the Finns fought against the Soviets in WWII, that Suomi just oozes history. Congrats!

I had thought about refinishing the stock, but I kinda liked the character that the well used stock has. I'm sure its earned its battle worn look.

Which kit did you build off of, and how hard did you feel the build was. The wife is wanting to get me a gun kit for V-day and I was debating between a Skorpion, PPSh-41, the KP44, and the Suomi.

Mark you might want to look over this thread to get an idea of the build.
