    Postak pps43 barrels & build

seeing as how these arent the easiest or cheapest to find, anyone know if a barrel from a similar gun chambered 7.62x25 will work? this is my first build so any ideas/suggestions/tips would be great.as of now i just need a barrel, trunnions & reciever flat or tube. anyone know if the pps43 falls into the c&r category?

    Welcome!

I've never built a tube gun so I'm unsure what other options are available --

on the c&r question, the original guns are full auto. The completed semi's would be a standard ffl transfer and the parts are only that.

An original PPS-43 could be a C&R gun, provided it was built before 1959. However the likelihood of finding one, unmolested, for a reasonable price is unlikely. You cannot build a new PPS-43 receiver and unless the existing receiver was properly registered you cannot possess it legally even if it was produced before the 1986 ban.

You can get flats easily enough, and the barrel and trunnions are available with some looking (although most of the barrels have dried up.) You would be better off, IMHO, building a PPSh-41, as the parts (especially the barrel) is still available and the final product is a much higher quality gun. Either way you will have to build as a semi-auto, unless you are an FFL07.

Built about 10 tube guns. Get 1.25 OD x 1.134 ID tubes from Online Metal Store | Small Quantity Metal Orders | Metal Cutting, Sales & Shipping | Buy Steel, Aluminum, Copper, Brass, Stainless | Metal Product Guides at OnlineMetals.com Use modified AK receiver and double hook triggers.

    I've built in 7.62x25 and 9mm.
