Folding stocks are legal, no need to modify it.

Barrel shrouds aren't counted unless it is counted as a handguard, which it might be, I dunno... You might be able to remake it for 1 less foreign part.

The barrel is counted, so swapping it out with a US made one does give you 1 less foreign part too.

folding stocks are legal if barrel is 16" or longer.

Whoops, I was assuming he was gonna do a "rifle" build...

If you do weld the stock folded and make a pistol then you don't need compliance parts IIRC.

If you build it as a pistol you don't need compliance parts, and yes you can weld the stock in the folded position, just make sure you can still take the firearm apart for cleaning and maintenance.

    Hello droog,
Military Gun Supply (MGS) in Texas has the trunions and adapter channel for the PPS-43 parts. Military Gun Supply, Your Source for Military Guns and More!

I have a drawing of this trunion but my darn scanner doesn't work right. The trunion mounts to a small sheet steel channel which is riveted or spot welded to the receiver.

    Hello perry,
Either MIG or TIG welding works fine on the PPS-43 receivers. Be sure to use backing chill blocks/pieces to preclude a mess inside (under the welds). A copper tube will fit the receiver upper radius nicely and helps align those pieces.

Gas welding causes a bit too much heat and warping on these sheet metal shapes.

thank you guys for the information.
i was selling off my pps-43 kits, but after looking at what you have done i pulled them off the for sale post. i think i am going to build them.

i must have the early demills because looking at the pictures i have more metal on my rear section and about the same on the front section of the kits. both of my kit are dimilled new rifles. YEP! i think i may be building them. i had a line on a couple of 16" barrels but i forgot where they were. to hunt again. oh well.

    thanks again
