Great look at how to build one. Thanks! Another vote for the librarian to catalog this thread.

Superb job as usual. I wish I'd bought two of the minty 28 kits from Sportsmans guide.
I'm having trouble coming to grips with grinding my parts up. But then............Why not??????? I just dropped a bundle on a Philly front section.

got a PM about the change to the guide rod...

mentioned up there that im using a full length guide rod with a welded in sleeve now and that retains the spring and lets the full length rod go thru with no issues..

was asked for some pix of this, there is just nothing that you can see from the outside.

you slide a 3/8" long piece of 3/8" brake tubing up the guide rod tunnel to the end and then weld it thru the hole you made in the top of the bolt.

unless you had a spy cam on a flexi shaft theres just no way to get a pic of this.

its a real simple mod to do and it works either way.

i just like the longer guide rod as there is now way anything can ever get out of line that way.

    hi Frogman,

the 28a1 version is posted here on the site already... but ive got no clue where it is now.

LOL i cleaned out my subscripts a while back and dont even have my own thread listed.

LMAO it may turn up on the search. if not i'll do a C&P of it all over again on the weekend.... but its a MUCH longer build thread.
