    I believe it is more in the 308 range than 311 but people do use ok AK barrels for them.... Really depends what you are looking to use it for. blaster then 311 will work.

    My CZ52 barrel slugs at .309, all the surplus ammo I have has the bullets at .307 to .308 (Bulgarian and Romanian).

    308 bore is the way to go however I have seen it reported that some 7.62x25 barrels are .311

    your barrel will work but Id slug that also as mosin barrels are all over the place as well.

    all the barrels I have chambered so far have been in .308 bore

    Hello SLUG36,
    The 7.62x25mm Tokarev round is a commie copy of the German 7.63mm Mauser pistol round which is a Kraut copy of the American .30 Borchardt round but with a hotter powder charge. That design started here in the USA in 1893. The dimensions are all the same to include the 7.65 Mannlicher bottle-neck. The difference is the powder charge.

    The .311 bore barrel thing comes from WW-II Soviet use of their rifle barrel machinery to make SMG barrels quick and dirty.

    As mentioned, .308" is the standard but some of the surplus varies a little.

    My 1946 Soviet ammunition book calls for a bullet diameter of 7.85 mm (-0.05 mm) and my 2003 Russian ammunition book calls for a bullet diameter of 7.80 mm to 7.85 mm.

    7.80 mm = 0.30708"

    7.85 mm = 0.30905"

    Average = 7.825 mm = 0.30806"
