    You CAN light ordinary matches by sliding them over glass.

    But,

    a) you have to really press down hard, it's friction-generated heat that lights them

    and

    b) you scratch the hell out of the glass you use when you use enough pressure to light them

    But he said normal matches. Also, with the MRE matches, they all seem to light just fine, even though the striker thing on the back is real messed up on this one book...

    They're impossible to find, where I live, probably because they fear liability from parents of kids who do stupid stuff.

    The copper/ phosphorus reaction is the meth method, that uses matches. I have tried to find the strike anywhere matches and of as of late have not been able too.

    i got a three pack of them for 10 bucks 6 months ago at the last gunshow.
    but i dont see them at any stores around here.
