My family has a few hundred acres of land in the north sacramento valley, they grow rice on it. 3 Years they were getting about $3500 for their rice per year, after paying for seed, care, water, etc. Grandfather was thinking of selling the place and land.Black Blade: We are much better off having prepared of course, however, others will pay higher prices as demand exceeds supply and the toll of inflation is felt around the world. Global competition for food could get intense and will be especially annoying for Americans and Europeans who are used to having plenty to eat. This is why we have our own long term food storage.
2 years ago they received a check for $40,000. and a second a few months later for $12,000.
last year, $56,000.... Needless to say, they're keeping the land and the house. Over-population is leading to high food costs... either way, everyone keep eating rice!
