I have a thermal camera that's good for spotting heat signatures. It's kind of shaped like a laser thermometer, with a pistol grip and a small 3" screen. It works great, but it's not a convenient size/shape for tactical purposes. No one is going to hide behind a bush in my yard though, that's for sure. It's sensitive enought to detect heat signatures even after the person has moved. It's crazy looking at my hallway after the cat or dog has walked down it. Bright footprints for a minute or three. LOL. Biggest negative is that the screen casts light back into your face making you visible to the other guy, not to mention it kind of screws up your night vision.
