We are supposed to get 1 to 4 " tonight. It's 22 degrees right now. Guess I'll get the snow blower ready.

being from VT I have to just shake my head when everything comes to halt around here in MO/AR when some flakes fall, but at least it isn't anything like the clusterfuck there.

if a real shtf situation ever arises, the death toll is gonna be off the scale.

Haha I've lived in/around Pittsburgh my entire life. 3" of snow, kids are lucky if they get a school delay.

SC definitely has a lot going for it. Definitely a Red state, pro gun, etc..... Education is our biggest problem. Private=great, public=crap.

2nd I think the main problem down there, they should have told everyone the day before to just stay home unless they had an emergency. How often do you see any snow in that area during the day, once a decade?

Here in my county (Greenville) they deal with it quite effectively. We're the largest county in the state and have terrain all the way from mountainous to piedmont semi flat. On average we get 3-4 decent snowfalls per season. Usually at least one that is 6"+. The county commisioner and city manager closely monitor the weather, and have the DOT crews out as early as is practical. We rarely have any problems. I-85 is always clear, no matter what, and usually the main roads are fairly clear. At the worst it's a two day event. Like you said, if you just take that day off, stay home with the kids in front of the fire, you're good. Smartest thing to do IMHO.
