Good Lord ,,the sky is falling, the sky is falling. A couple inch's of snow and and everybody freaks out, On My ,,,,TEOTWAWKI

We don't even bat an eye around here unless it's at least 2' or more, then it's only a minor inconvenience for a day or so. Can't get around,,throw on the skis or snow shoes and off ya go to the store if you really need to that bad, no biggie. 2 feet just slows things down for a couple three hours while ya clean it up around here. People are really turning in to woos-es,,,,if they freak out over 2"of snow, summer tires or not, Hell I just put my winters today!!!

Not cause I didn't want to , just couldn't find D slot steel wheels to fit the Nissan. Actually bought the tires in November but after a series of 3 incorrectly back spaced wheels being sent, I just got ugly stock steel wheels instead. We've had plenty of snow and I've gotten around just fine with out them, everyone should learn to drive in it, then it's no biggie. Actually it's kinda fun doing Rockford turns and doughnuts in the drive when it's icy, and 4 wheel drifting on the lake on the ice, me and the boy do it all the time! Fun stuff, and a good way to learn to drive well, plus,,,

It gets me warmed up for doing it in the summer,,,love 4 wheel drifting with the hammer down,,,,EEEEE-HAWWWWW

    Frigging senile old kids,,,,

I love driving in the snow when the roads are deserted. In HS my buddies and I would look forward to a coating as we would go sliding and drifting in every parking lot/long twisty neighborhood we could find. The only time I dont like driving in the snow is whenever I'm trying to get to work and fucking idiots who shouldn't even have a drivers license are actually making it dangerous with their slow/scared driving...I suicide passed many 4wds who decided to stop dead on big hills and started sliding backwards in my little 2wd Toyota pickup.

I'm not wishing for it but I got a set/pair of magnesium snow shoes surplus from sportsman guide about five years ago and haven't been able to try them out. No complaints! Anyone else get em? And do you like em?

Funny information surfacing here (Im in Atlanta) All of our local news was predicting around 1" of snow for the city. Here in GA that means as soon as the sun dips down, that = 1/4" of ice. The DOT and other road maintenance crews "Are not allowed to act based off local information" ??? They need to follow the direction of the "National weather service" who stated the accumulation would be well south of the city.
Sounds like the Feds wanted a city shutdown.

I doubt it's the mayor's job. In my metropolis of 30,000, we have an actual Street Department, which is tasked to clear the roads of snow, put down sand or salt, etc., all by themselves, without having to be micromanaged by the mayor or city council.

Local news no longer reports based on eyewitness call-ins for things like ice or tornados; they use NOAA data only. I refer to NOAA as "the entertainment site" since it is so laughbly wrong it can't be considered 'information'.

As a result, the news channel and radio disaster predictions are almost entirely useless. Their reasoning? "They don't want to assume liability for erroneous reports from individuals."

Ri-ight. "We only want our news canned and sanitized, politically correct, and guaranteed non-actionable. F*** being useful."

Thanks Stalker. I kinda like it. I'm a transplant from Asheville, N.C. which is some of the most beautiful country there is. Unfortunately it's turned into a Liberal Hell. "San Francisco" of the East as it's known. I'm very glad to be in a a Red State, and Red County.

    BB, that's a hilarious pic.

The big problem with the South and East is that the DOT uses liberal doses of salt and not enough plowing. This just makes the slush pack down under traffic, becoming ice as soon as the temperature drops a bit. Bladed, hard-packed snow is nearly as good as pavement in allowing safe traffic movement. They just don't get it...
