Mountain Prepper Expo in Sevierville Saturday
The Mountain Prepper and Gun Show, touted as “the largest Prepper Show east of the Mississippi River,” will be held on May 17 and 18 at the Sevierville Convention Center, 202 Gists Creek Road in Sevierville. It is hosted by Mountain Expos of Tennessee. Hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $7 for adults; children under 12 are admitted free.
The Mountain Prepper Home, Gun & Outdoor Expo will feature speakers and vendors, classes and exhibits from around the United States focused on emergency preparedness, self-reliance and healthy living.
“Critical items such as long-term food storage, water treatment, guns, ammo, emergency medical supplies, alternative power, security and much more will all be under one roof during this event,” said Bill Vernon, a Mountain Prepper Expo organizer.
Guest speakers scheduled to lead various classes include:
Dr. Bones and Nurse Amy (Dr. Joseph Alton and Amy Alton) keynote medical speakers
James Talmage Stevens (a.k.a. Dr. Prepper) a pioneer in the preparedness industry
Paul M. Munsen president of Sun Oven International, Inc., the leading manufacturer of high quality solar cooking devices
Bob Gaskin a firearms and survival instructor with Black Dog Survival School
Lucinda Bailey (a.k.a. The Seed Lady) a Texas Master Gardener specializing in heirloom seed, food independence, and crisis gardening
Jim Kennard founder of the non-profit Food For Everyone Foundation
Lucas Cameron an East Tennessee farmer specializing in alternative energy and tech preps who has also appeared on the popular television series, “Doomsday Preppers”
