Get the whole thing for $400 at Roberts:

I recall when Tapco first started selling these at $250 they didn't know what they had. After word spread to the 1919 board and orders flooded in, they jacked the price up and stripped the optics out of the kits. Retailers......

Those are kick ass setups. I have my MG42 on one. The Germans called them "Feld Laffette".

The optics are extremely high quality, made by Hensold/Wetzlar.

Robert is a good guy to do business with. I've purchased several MG and HK parts from him. His stuff is usually new in the wrap striaght from Germany.

Wow, leave it to Robert to have a better deal! Doing the math, Tapco would charge about $50 more for the whole thing - $450. $400 from Robert is just about the right price - everyone on the MG42.us board seems to think the price is just right for this. I think I'm gonna get me one even before the parts kit arrives, because tripods have historically been a real PITA to track down. Seems whenever you want one, you can never find them!

CW, I agree with your assessment - the times I've needed to order from him, he's been top-shelf all the way.
