Default Idiot Attempts MG 42 Build

Reminds me of the "how to cook an antelope on a pine board".

I think when I'm done I'll shoot the board.

My thanks to all the work you've shared on yours!!

And I'm happy it's firing the rounds in the chamber.

And it's tig for the fill but the initial alignment welds are mig.

Pirate - been keeping up on you on MG42 board. Got the parts, just haven't jumped on board yet. Thanks for all the pathfinding work.

Gotta ask - why the tape on the gate? No gate bolt??

Winn - best of luck on your build. Let us know how she goes.

The spring is missing, I have worked on this for a couple of months and as you probally know have gone through lots of R&D to improve the origonal bolt and
gripstick conversion that is marginal at best. I wasn't going to let a .50 spring delay testing so I did what I had to do and used tape!!
