at this point your screwed... there are no buildable receivers from any retailers... there are recievers to be had if you look hard enough. but you will not like the price. currently $600-1K for a buildable reciever from a private individual.

Good luck on the receiver. Dan at Angola Armory is among the short list of the "best" of the reputable vendors - just like DPHARMS - has stated that he expects more receivers to arrive "later this year". Save your coin and get ready to buy one then, because if and when he gets some, I'm betting they will be the only shipment for a while.

Ditto for barrels - get them while you can.

I don't see any pictures on the MG42 site. Do you need to be registered to see the pics?

If nothing else get a kit, maybe receivers will show up again. or get the brp sections. there is a feeding frenzy for this gun and parts are getting scarce

thats what I would do, order the set and keep an eye open for a rec. If BRP is still selling the rec halves its not that hard a build when you make friends with a welder

I can say this - when you get the kit (and receiver sections!) the assembly isn't rocket science. It is some clever reverse-engineering and it can be done. Welding is the most difficult challenge that you will face.
