Any places that sell a already built semi MG-42, or build kits for people. Would give my legs for an MG-42, just want to know weather to start saving.......or quit dreaming .
well. i might try to get a kit while i still can, at any rate
A member of this forum, Pirate56, is at Knob Creek this week-end. I would contact him via email or PM when he gets back. I think he still has a .308 MG42 kit w/receiver for sale.

Where do I begin? This question had more relevance last summer, when kits were still around.Originally Posted by KMURPHY
Put simply, there are no "ready to build" MG kits.
Incomplete kits are about the only thing readily available. You'll be needing receiver sections. These can be found on the auction websites, but that's really about the only place any more. Expect to spend around $1200 *or so* for all the kit parts you'll need. Probably more. And auction websites are obviously a hit-or-miss ordeal. Also, as already posted, check the FS section on MG42.us.
Understand that you'll need to weld the cut receiver sections, and that is a major challenge if you have no equipment. Many of the requisite reverse-engineered parts are available for a modest sum from fellow members for those who would rather buy, than build, the sub-assemblies.
The mg42.us website is "the" repository for all the reverse-engineering information that you'll ever need. The people there are real friendly and like to share their knowledge.
BRPGuns had them for sale and I'm pretty sure they are still available.
TNW has, or plans, to have them FS soon. Ditto
