It is a private range, but it is not that hot. the cover is only over 1 position at about 50 yds. the rest is open, no tables / benches. most of the shooters there are pistol shooters that need to stand 6 ft from the target so they can hit it. so that stops you from shooting at a greater distance.
with the lack of cover or benches it is difficult to work on a gun to get it working or fine tue it. 99% of the shooters there buy thier guns at a gun shop, they come in one peice, not a box of parts and they have never seen stuff like all the homemade shit we show up with. I don't mind answering questions letting people shoot my guns but when you go with a few new builds that need wringing out it can be a pita. Usually the line " this is the first time I am shooting this and it may explode " gets them to stand back.
So far outr attempts to find a couple of acres of swamp to shoot on have not been sucessful. having a place to test and tune is really getting to be a problem. it is a 2 hr trip to get to this range.
