    Default 50 bmg video

I took the 50 out for its maiden voyage yesterday. there were a few minor problems to correct but once those were fixed it worked fine. I ran about 30 rounds through it as I only have about 150 rounds at the moment. the 5 seconds of fun in the video cost $25.00

It definately is a heavy one. I live on the second floor and almost had a heart attack lugging it up and down the stairs!!

it tool about 30 hours to build it, there are a lot of rivets and a lot of big parts to blast and park.

    Thanks for sharing.

Are you planning to handload or buy tailor-mades?

Aw man, you got all the cool toys!

    Very nice Pirate!

I would've liked to seen you neighbors when you lugged that beast down 2 floors.

WC860 powder, $56/8 pounds, at 225 grains/round powder comes to $0.23/round for powder.
    http://www.gibrass.com/gunpowder.html

    M8 - API - Silver Tip - 649 gr. - Resized & polished, $120/500, comes to $0.24/round for bullet

    http://hi-techammo.com/

Don't want API, don't blame you!, $250/625 for 695 gr. FMJBT Spitizers, $0.40/bullet.

    http://www.gibrass.com/projectiles.html

CCI#35 .50 Cal BMG, $215/1000, comes to $0.22/round for primer.

Both bullet and primer at http://hi-techammo.com/

I know I didn't include shipping & hazmat, that'll vary depending on how much you order at a time, but the total consumable cost/round comes to $0.69/round if you invest in brass ($630/1000 at hi-tech) and the Lee 50BMG loader & dies, & accessories like powder measures. http://www.leeprecision.com/cgi/cata...g/classic.html

I know the brass won't last forever, but at 69-95 cents per, even if you only get three loads out of each brass your handload cost is still $1 to $1.50.

I know it's not cheap, but it IS cheaper than tailor-mades.
