I am looking for pics and info on the Israeli Negev to determine if it is feasable to build a similar weapon without spending 5.000 on a factory parts kit. I have a UK59 which utilises the same simple feed lever mechanism that was later refined by the Israelis in the Negev. MKCanuck is going to post what he has on the Negev and I will post whatever pics anyone wants on the UK59. If anyone has pics or info please jump in.

Oh my favorite little LMG :) Being a trained MG Gunner and Instructor
I love MG's :) and this one just catches my eye and I have been tracking
down info on this little gem for awhile. SharpShooter's MG47 would be
easily converted to this type of feed system making it a very cheap
Negev. Doubletapme is sure the one to do it too with his machinist
skills :)

MkCanuck9r,
Outstanding pictures! That helps immensely. I have several other projects to complete first but I am adding this to the list. It looks like the only off the shelf part I will have to start with is the buttstock and the rest will be custom.

I will take some more pics of the UK59 this weekend. If there is any particular part you need close up let me know.

Glock: lol..that's only a small amount...i have lots more, but my wife would agree
with your assessment, but that's why i was a MG Instructor :)

doubletapme: Since your UK59 is the grandfather of the Negev all pics are good :)
would like to see a good side shot to the actuating surface on the Bolt Carrier. I
see the UK59 uses a unique bearing and the Negev doesn't bother with it. Also
if you make one please please alert me to your project i wanna see it being born!

What i really am looking for is a few shots of the Negev Trigger Mechanism...its the
last thing i need to complete my obsession

OK more shots :)

These are poor quality but obsessions don't mind

Inside here is the missing info i need. Glock get your IDF friend to get pics of this :)

This the best internal pic so far ;)

There...that's plenty of info to keep your interest :) Now you know why i was so
fascinated with SharpShooter's AK47 design...a negev knockoff version :thumbup1:

Doubletapme, if your build will be entirely custom, are your plans to duplicate the dual feed systems of the Negev? If so, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease help us out with a good tutorial on it's build. Those of us working on MG47's will need something to do after we're done!

Thanks,
Craig
