    Default Belt Fed Shotgun

I remember back in the late 80's there were adds in the back of Soldier of Fortune magazine for plans to convert a Browning shot gun to belt fed.Has anyone seen or heard of these. It would be an interesting design to look at.It would probably fall under the nfa act as a destructie device nowadays.

Havent seen this before, but this one might give it a run for its money...

How cool would it be to take that to the trap club?! Its just a bummer the drums only hold 20 rounds.

we've actually been talking about doing a belt fed shotgun out of a 1919a4 using .410ga... but that is on another forum.

Maybe a Saiga 12 could be rebuilt like the MG47 projects. It might need to pull the shells from a belt (instead of pushing) due to the shells rim. Definitly alot of custom work.

i am thinking a 12 gauge gattling gun would be kinda fun and a bit easier than a belt fed if you were going from scratch.

I will throw some fuel on the fire of this discussion and take the position that a belt feed shotgun would be lighter and easier to make than a gattling gun version. Not that I am writing from experience, but all those barrels, all those rotating parts, all tha complexity!!! If I had a Saiga 12 shotgun parts kit I think that some design elements of a 1914/maxim system could be drawn upon to get it running. There are people in this forum that have experience with these systems that could offer comment.

    Any takers?

What would one use for a belt or links?

The old school method was to use cloth belts. Nylon straps sewn together at intervals might have enough stretch to hold the shells.
