I finished assembling a SA MG53 a couple of weeks ago and I am just waiting for better weather to try it and my SA Bren I finished a couple of months ago. Weather here has prevented me from going out to the desert and trying them. Snow, Snow, Snow! The local covered range kind of frowns on those types of guns even though they are semi-auto and 100% legal.:nono:
please post pictures!
what route did you go building the M53?
100% WLA receiver? the 80% cold steel?
i am almost ready to weld my m53 so any advice that can be given, or pointers to what works and what does not, would be immensely valuable to me
thanks
I used a combination of a WLA cam section and MG42 center section and a rear section made from a second MG42 center section. Also a ratchet plate from RTG. The bolt extension and the booster cone repair section I machined myself. Not the most effecient but cheap. I will post some pictures as soon as I get a chance to take them.
