I have been working on this for a couple of months in my spare time, it is still under construction. the original concept was to be a light, compact, beltfed hip shooter. The first step was to cut the bbl to 14" and thread it for a fal flash hider, then the sights on the feed cover were removed and the holes welded shut.
I installed a rail on the mounts for the gas system and put on a 100 mw green laser. next I decided it needed a new stock, I like the ace skeleton stocks and built one from some scrap laying around the shop.
The next project was to eliminate the drum as it is bulky and hangs on the side, so I made and adapter for SAW ammo bags. After shooting it I decided it needed a bipod, so I chopped the standard one down to a more practical size.
the next project will be a new handguard with a rail so I can move the laser back, as the blast from the gas system gets all over it in its current position.
I call it the "RPD from Hell" and will engrave a skull & cross bones on it when we get better engraving software.
It is a lot of fun to shoot, light up the target with the laser and blast away!!
