Default anyone build a m53 from a centerfire kit?

I am interested in building one are all the parts there?
They have a photo of "included parts" which makes me wonder how much is not included, since I dont have a schematic or parts list.

    Thanks

They are one of the more complete kits out there. The question is will it come with an intact camming section or not. Mine did. It was a great bargain. I have not built it yet, but all the parts are there.

building one of these is a lot of work, you wil need a receiver and semi conversion for the bolt & grip. it is not an easy build

    Here is a tutorial:mg42

The three kits I picked up all had complete camming section and were in good buildable shape. The parts varies from almost new looking to worn finish and some dings. Still a great deal for the price.

I got two kits very early with bright and shinny barrels that looked new. The third kit I got later was with the lesser grade and a little darker than expected.

Planning to build at least one on a BRP metal kit.

I got a receiver section from IMA for $200, they have some more for $150 but they didn't look as nice. Here is what I got... we'll see if I am up to the challenge. This would be a trivial build if it was a postie.

    Smile question ?

Will you be converting to 7.62 x 51 I just recently purchased the kit from RTG and all I can say is that it is well worth it new Styer Barrel - New German Feed Top and all other components looked to be new never used.

    Hope this helps.

Pirate is right. Building a MG42/53 is a lot of work but there is a wealth of info out on this site and others to help. Pirate's tutorial is a good place to start. I have built 2 and each had their little problems but both turned out fine in the end. Getting the receiver welded back together straight and to the right length is the biggest challange.
