Believe me I'm not trying to turn you off to a belt-fed, everyone should have one

The belt-fed AK is a really slick deal and I believe its value will be higher in the long run.

A semi-MG42 build should be doable again with the recent availability of parts, but you'll be stuck with .308 or 8mm.

to me the value is really of no importance. this is not going to be something im going to try to sell. i just want a toy. for some reason i just really like the hk belt feds the most.

there are a couple of hk21 parts kits on gun broker and a complete gun fro $8K.

if you have deep pockets go for it.

the most practical, cheapest and fun to shoot belt gun available right now is an rpd.

I have been looking for several months. I missed on on gb for $5500.00 a few months ago. there have been a few kits pop up but they are overpriced and some have been incomplete. I am hoping to find a decent priced post sample I can rebuild as a semi.

I wondered if you could do that. If someone got rid of their sot could they convert their post samples to semi-auto?

I think it could be possible and profitable for a shop to produce the belt-fed parts to convert hks. They wouldn't be cheap but I think people would buy them.

there are a lot of complex precision parts for a hk21, it is not feasable for a small shop to do it. you can convert post samples to semi, however the receivers must be destroyed to batf specs first.
