artty thanks for fixing the link
That link shows a 7.62 x 39 belt. Is that correct for the smaller round?
yes. on the rpd type (U) links you can insert the round backwards . you will need to put the starter tab on the end of the belt.
done a quick check on what i can fit in the rpd type (U) links . 30 carbine, 7.62x 25, 5.45x 39, and 9mm .
@cal70 - I have read several discussions, in the past, about the use of type (u) links. I never could find where these were available. Thanks for clearing this up. So, if you wanted to do a 5.45 or 5.56 cal MG47, you would use a RPD top and tray with the type (u) links?
Thank you for the info!
I'm pretty sure a .223 is to long for an RPD feed Tray, you would have to mod it somehow.
Didn’t think of that @ Dark Knight. I was more excited at the diameter issue than length. Wait, that didn’t sound real good, but you get my meaning. Thanks.
It is.I'm pretty sure a .223 is to long for an RPD feed Tray,
And the 223 is too small in diameter to work in the link, both ways.

guess im wrong on the rpd feed tray .the length being 2.244 and the 223 being 2.223 . not enough wiggle room?
