    Default 50 BMG parts kits?

A .50 BMG is on to-do my list in the next 12 months. I need something to put on top of my Jeep! I've been looking on gunbroker, but auction prices quickly get out of control. SOOOO.... I'm wondering if there's a good place where people go keep an eye out for parts kits. I've found M2HB.net which seems to be active, but not that many parts get posted. Any other places they may be floating around?

While I realize that if you have ED you need something big to take it's place. Mine, however, still works.
A removeable frame made of small diameter exhaust pipe with two SKSs mounted side-by-side atop the frame work just fine.
Regulate the sights so they are synched at 200 or 250 yards. Watching for the bullet strikes will then tell you the range.
Mags for this should be Beta mags with atleast 1 reload per rifle, but as many as you can afford.
My choice for a mounted dual M-2 would be nothing less thyan a Dodge PowerWagon, and again, the sky's the limit.
I would however have a .50BMG single shot or repeating bolt action in the Jeep for that 'special' anti-materiel situation.

Most folks would be happy with just a M-1919 on their Jeep mount. But not pookie, He's got to go all ma duece on your ass.
I can't seem to get the timing right. When I had my CJ-7, I had no M-1919. Now that I've got a M-1919, I gots no Jeep.

The most recent company to have M2HB part sets was BRP.

Here is the link to their web site:

    Pookie,

im a member there as well..... they are more collectors & shooters.. not usually sellers. :-)

nothing in 50bmg is cheap now days, the kit sources are getting narrow but if your really interested send me a PM.

mine might be available to fellow hobby members here pretty soon... cause ive got a special part that most 50bmg guys really "NEED".. LOL

this is the ideal set up for vehicle mounting, cycles faster (1,100rpm in semi!!), a little lighter.....

Been doing the math on reloading. $85 for the Lee dies which are getting very high rated reviews. Surplus bullets, brass, links, powder, and new primers are all available online. By my math I can reload ammo for < $2.00/round which, for what it is, seems very affordable. I might be able to push that down to $1.50/round depending on availability of components... "cheaper by the dozen". I happen to have a swaging press that will be suitable for reloading .50 BMG. I started work on an adapter plate before I moved and then boxed everything up. The idea for the plate is to swap between .50 dies and the standard sized swaging dies. The entire press bolts together with huge bolts

This week I'm looking for a house, and once I buy one here in the Springs I'll be moving before end of June, unboxing/unpacking over July 4th weekend, and getting my new shop all set up and wired shortly thereafter. So realistically it will be August before I can really buy parts and get moving on this. Stupid movers marked all the boxes in the garage as "tools" so I had to open every one of them and rummage just to find my stupid wrench set. They were in the bottom box in the very corner of the pile. No joke! LOL

Those kits on BRP are all in different conditions, but it isn't clear to me w/o photos exactly how suitable they are for conversion. I'll have to phone them when I'm ready to buy. The semi conversion seems "just like" a 1919 but only bigger. The RSP seems like something I can machine if I can find a big enough plate of steel. Then machine the internals for semi-only use and presto I'm all set.

Dutigaf I'll send you a PM!

if you can get it down to $1.50 a round then do it!

lots of times you can get down in the $2.50 range from Pats reloading for good lake city stuff. thats where i get mine. :-)

Give Brian at BRP a call, he can tell you about the material he has in stock.

The APEX office/warehouse is located at 3105 North Stone Avenue in Colorado Springs.
Most of the people that are APEX live here too.

I think you will like it here in Colorado Springs!
There are a couple of good gun shops in the area & I know one excellent gunsmith!
