The older Century inch spec receivers were anything but in spec. The newer metrics are a different ball of wax. They still need minor tweeking, but that's about it. They're a good buy for a low cost FAL build. Won't hold value like a DSA, Imbel, or Coonan, but for $170 it'll put lead down the range.
BTW, ARS has always had a hard on against the Century receivers. I can understand where they're coming from as a builder with a reputation to maintain.
I saw recently at the market place at the Fal Files a dealer had 20 newly received DCI FAL receivers for sale. Looks like the Coonans should be hitting the market in force any time now. Perhaps Harlan or someone can give us an update on this?
can somebody post a pic of a coonan fal rec , new or old, I have been fartin' around with fals since 1987 , have one of Dans pistols and have handled most of the hk type recievers he has cast but have yet to see one of his FAL rec.
I will get around to assembling a rifle on one of the vulcan rec shortly, Holding it and the century side by side the Vulcan appears much nicer. It fits the lower perfectly and the carrier slides right in, I passed the century along to a friend and kept both the Vulcans
