Are you talking about kits or receivers?

The only receivers I've heard about in that price range are the Centurys.
From the reports I've read on them, I'd pass.

If you're talking about kits, Wolfsburg Bob at Akron armory is selling them for $149 shipped.

I am refering to receivers, I bought a couple labled vulcan and they look very nice for the money, really nice considering imbels are $350+ I also bought a couple of the century rec for $149, a little rough around the edges but usable

    Panaceabeachbum,

When do you plan to do this build? Let us know how the receiver works out the one from CFS. Thanks.

This may have been brought up before: One gunsmith's opinions on the Century Arms FN receiver (Inch pattern)

Love to hear from the folks that do get Century ones how they compare to the pics and notes at the link above.

The older Century inch spec receivers were anything but in spec. The newer metrics are a different ball of wax. They still need minor tweeking, but that's about it. They're a good buy for a low cost FAL build. Won't hold value like a DSA, Imbel, or Coonan, but for $170 it'll put lead down the range.

BTW, ARS has always had a hard on against the Century receivers. I can understand where they're coming from as a builder with a reputation to maintain.

I saw recently at the market place at the Fal Files a dealer had 20 newly received DCI FAL receivers for sale. Looks like the Coonans should be hitting the market in force any time now. Perhaps Harlan or someone can give us an update on this?
