    Default Missing an ejector block

I was going to order a Imbel kit and it said that the ejector block is missing. Is that a big deal, or can I order it somewhere else? Is there anything else I need? except for the receiver? Thanks

Yeah, it's only a factor if you buy one of ORF's receivers as they don't come with one for who know what reason. Not a part I'd care to install in a receiver. The ejector block is missing from about all the kits on the market these days. Guess Jack Boots, Inc. is afraid we might do something with them contrary to their liking.

    Default Ejector Block

I'm thinking of trying an ORF receiver. Any sources for the ejector block?

Getting the ejector block is easy, they can be had for about $10.

Installing it is a whole other matter. The block needs to be drilled and pinned in the exact location, which requires a jig/drilling fixture.
Proper location of the EB is critical to the rife functioning properly.
Not something for the inexperienced. I wouldn't attempt it myself.

Has anyone seen an ORF receiver yet, or are they still vaporware?

They say 45 days on the ORF receivers, time will tell. There are some reports on the DCI receivers that say it looks just like the DSA type one. No build reports yet. Check the FALFILES marketplace for ejector blocks, I just got a couple semi ones for $10 each shipped. I have one from the kit I got from IO that is select fire cut and predrilled so I am covered whichever way I want to go. There was a lot of debate about using the full auto blocks but as long as the receiver is not cut for it I don't see a problem.

I am on the order list for the ORF receivers and will probably get a DCI when they become available after filling all the old back orders. I built a FAL on a Imbel receiver to see what it was like and as long as you get the tools it was pretty straight forward. I still had to do some fitting to the Imbel so they are not all perfect either.YMMV. The price on them is gone to the free market system, supply low=price high. The days of the $400 FAL build are over. If you want to build one do it now as the price and availability of kits is not going to get any cheaper.

There are some Century receivers on the market right now and the reports are that they are better then the old ones but may still take more work to get them right. The price reflects that as they go for about $170.

Edit: Tapco sold all of their surplus FAL parts to www.Gunpartsguy.com
