    Default Whats it cost?

I have built a handful of ak's and know what I can build for a certain price. Now how much has your fal builds been running you guys? I find prices for everything fal related all over the board and not to consistent it seems.

I think the FAL guys go to the FAL files forum.
I have not seen much posted about FALs on Gunco.
It is a nice looking gun though.

we are here.. it's not that bad if you have the tools . say.. $100 or less in tools if i recall and the receiver and parts kit. $600 maybe???
If any punk kid ever comes up to you asking for your `Gang Sign` Tap your chest twice then your forehead once. After doing that only upon a threat do you draw your glock and show him what you meant.

$600 sounds about right depending on what you can get your parts kit, receiver and US parts for. If you're handy with tools you can make a receiver wrench and barrel vise to save you some money. I built some about 6 years ago when Imbel receivers were $200 and the excellent kits were about the same. You do need to have or borrow a set of headspace gauges to make sure the locking shoulder is the correct size. The AGI video shows in great detail how to put one together.

Currently receivers scarce and pricey. Imbels are going for around $475-$500, a DSA @ $425-$450, DCI @ $400-$425, even Centurys are fetching $350-$375.
And that's if you can find one.

Kits are running $225-$250 and they are drying up quickly.

US parts will run another $200 or so.

US parts are easy to come by. Receivers should become more plentiful (except the no longer importable Imbel) in the future as production catches up with demand.

I would definitely grab a kit now, as their price will just continue to climb as the supply continues to dwindle. (They've already gone up $100 since last summer)

Definitely grab a kit while you can.
Kits and Imbel receivers will just continue to rise, since they can no longer be Imported.
US part prices should remain stable and US receiver may even go down a little once the FAL frenzy quiets down.
All those $149 kits that Akron Armory and Dan's ammo sold last year have really driven up the demand for receivers.
I have another kit all demilled and ready to go, just waiting for the receiver situation to work itself out.

Here's the break down of my first build:

Tapco Imbel kit $99 (in the day as they say)
Imbel receiver of gunbroker a couple of months ago $400
    FFL transfer $27
Ratas receiver wrench $60 I think
7 compliance parts from GPG $130
Hardware for penguin front hand guards that didn't come $2
    New Bosch top cover $4
    stock tool $11
Pin gauges from MSC to set headspace $23
    Headspace gauges from Midway $34
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
    $790

Now the second build was cheaper cause I got TOOOLLLLZZZZ:

Tapco rhodesian mix match kit $99
    CAI receiver from Court $265
    FFL transfer $27
7 complaince parts from GPG $130
    -----------------------------------------------
    $521

The Para parts are just a topcover and carrier that use a diiferent recoil spring setup, the fixed stock lower can be used for a pistol.
