    Default C;eaning the gas tube?

How often do I need to clean this little tube?
How do I do it right?

I use a shotgun bore mop and clean it everytime I clean the gun.

There are extra long pipe cleaners that you can use for that job if your talking about the AR15 .

How often is a good question. Maybe every 1000 rounds? Any one??? I only clean mine when I feel like it, and that's not often. From time to time I take a can of Gunscrubber to them in the bathtub and then clean with mops.

I've never cleaned mine, I've read you should replace them every 10,000 rounds though.

its pretty rare to have to clean them since the psi going through them keeps them clean but i have seen a clogged one once pretty rare

I figured since Gunco has attracted a renouned AR15 book author, I should bother reading up on the gas tube procedure. Basically clean your bolt & carrier key very well with an old bore brush and the outside of the tube where they mate. Be careful not to jar the end of the tube because the alignment w/ the gas key is critical. Outside of that, Gunscrubber in the bath tub when ever you feel like it can't hurt.
