Default AR Lower from a Benchtop Mill...

Here is a link to a neet little AR lower scratch-build project. This lower is build from homemade aluminum pieces screwed together. It seems to solve the problem of lack of 80% forgings these days.

The builder has posted free drawings for the download at a couple places. Perhaps this will also inspire someone to develope an "AR flat" type build !!

Agreed. Yahoo reports "Sorry, the page you requested was not found."
I have a daughter. I tell her, "911 is what you dial after you're raped. 1911 is what you should have before they try."

Try going to Tabletop Machining and then click on the "P6: AR15 receiver" link on the left.

    Kinda grows on me

I'm pondering whether or not this AR lower can be built using only plunge cuts and some grinding/filing. If so, it could be done using a lot of patience and a drill press.

I made one out of stainless using those prints. I used a cnc too make the parts but its pretty easy to do even on a manual mill. Theres 10 different parts to make and is time consuming.

I saw something like this on shotgun news a while ago. It was a kit that you got that you had to drill and tap all the holes. It was cheaper to just buy a receiver. Thats where I got the idea to just make it out of steel and weld it together. Might be faster, might not. As it stands that's pretty far down on the build list though.
