Does anyone know which one is used in the CNCguns tutorial?
I prefer the 4 flute as it is more rigid but it clogs easier.
i'm going to be trying this on the drill press, so should i opt for more flutes?
drill press=no rigidity
I've been thinking about this a while. Seeing how the money is not there for a mill, but I could swing a HF drill press and the $59 mill vice.
I've thinking.....mind you now the last time I was on a mill was in 1978, BUT:
What if you drilled down to 90% of required depth, then used one of those mill bits vertically to clean up the sides and flatten out the bottom areas where the FCG reside? Then you would not be putting a load horizontally on the drill press. It would take some time to do in the mag well, but I ain't doing nothing but waiting to die every night after work right now, so time is not no big deal.
So my real question is will one of those mill bits work in a fashion like I am waiting to use it?
thanks guys and your welcome.
now whether you use a drill press or a mill if your not a machinist (im not) then be sure to pick up some of the "aluma" style mill bits and a burr the same way....
they need NO lube or oil, they wont clog in aluminum and they dont get dull either...
ive done over a dozen with mine now and they cut just as good as they did NIB.
say what you mean & mean what you say
