Oh o.k..

But the receivers are being made just a bit too the south of where I live.
Apopka Florida.
30 minute drive with no traffic. Two week journey if the tourists are in town.
Oh God. Just what I need. I am a few days away from bankruptcy now.
Hey j4. You coming too Knob Creek?
Get off your butt and come on too the show.

Hey j4...

My buddy knows those guys at "Spikes."
His warehouse was rite next too theirs in Apopka.
Guess they build AKs and ARs for the commercial market.
Nice guys. They helped me with one of my early fubar AK builds for free.
Huh. Small world.

Yo j4. I went too AR-15 Heaven..

Deland Florida. Deland is a nice small town, with a huge high tech industrial base. Clean stuff no smoke stacks. :)
So my Bro says "Lets check out this place " Tactical Machining."
O.Tay.
Drive over, expected a small fun shop.
The business is about a 1/4 mile long. Beautiful place.
We entered Heaven. :)
It is a company that manufactures lowers for the AR world.
Small talk, nice young man says do you want too see the company?
"Sure"
Oh my God. Million dollar machines, the blocks the receivers start out as.
Young feller starts too explain the machinery.
My mechanical ability being just below that of a chimp, I have no idea what he is talking about.
But it was interesting seeing how these AR lowers are created.
From a block, too what we put on our weapons.
Place was cleaner than the last operating room I was in at the V.A..
Pretty sure he said "Spikes manufacturing" was just up the road.
Learned it is a rather expensive process, too get these AR lowers too our fun shops.
Nathan thanks for the tour.
You should have been with us j4, you too would have gone too AR Heaven. :)

j4...

For real. It was like entering AR heaven..
Poor Nathan was really trying too explain, how they took these "expensive" blocks and turned them into AR lowers.
Incredibel tolerances they have too work with.
Excess material is then re-cycled and made into blocks too make more AR lowers.
Only way too make it cost effective, I guess?
Even learned what the numbers on the pitcanny rails are for.
"T" "S" "L" one through whatever.
When you take your scope, or whatever attachment off the rail.
You have a marked number slot, too remember where too place it back on.
So I am stupid, hell I did not know that. :loopeye:
Yes yes I bought a complete lower with adjustable stock.
I see another SBR lower coming soon.
