Thanks, but I wish Will would have never approached me about making a 9mm AK.
I didn't know the first damn thing about AK's when I started, let alone a 9mm version and now I know more than I ever wanted too.

I understand everything you have done to this weapon, but still a little confused about mag? Are you using a adapter of some sort?

No adaptor needed. I did mod the mags and install a block of wood inside the mag spring to limit capacity since it has to hold less than 9rnds in the barrel and mag to hunt deer with in MI. The 357AR is basically a rimless 357MAX run up to 556 pressures. It gives similar performance to standard 35REM loads. 158gr @ 2400fps, 180 @ 2260fps for max loads out of an 18" barrel. The 9" retains quite a bit more than max since the majority of velocity is gained in the first 10" of barrel length. The mags need to have the bullet guides removed in order to feed the fatter bullets and still have the rounds double stack. If you don't remove them, after about 3 rounds the bases of the cartridges have dropped low enough that the bolt will no longer grab them. Pmags, theromags, and the Bulgarian mags in the pic can all have the bullet guides trimmed off of the inside. In the pic you can see whats going on between the USGI mag and a modified Pmag. The straight 20rnd mags seem to work better than the 30rnd mags which will only hold about 25rnds before the curve makes the bases drop too low to pick up.

    Okay, that makes sense now.
I was all confused when you stated you used a Bulgarian mag before.
I didn't know the Bulgarians made AR mags.
    Nice job.

I almost think it would be safer to say who doesn't make M16/AR15 stuff. The Bulgarian mag has a metal insert for the feed lips, and other than that the Pmags have been the best ones I've found so far.

I guess I should have known that, but when I hear Bulgarian I think AK.
My buddy sells all kinds of mags and other parts. but I haven't seen any AR mags from Bulgaria.

He has some steel AR mags from Israel that are so well made, I bet use could drive over them with a truck.

I need to find my dust gauge. At 2 microns of dust build up a month, I'll find the oldest one and let you know.

Now, there is some creative production effort.

Does a .357 Magnum run from a standard AR magazine without too much modification?

There have been some 357mag builds that used desert eagle mags. This one is chambered in 357AR which is a rimless case that beats the pants off of a 357 mag or 357max. The cases I'm using started out as 223 cases and were opened up to 357 in steps.
