what was the reason for the 601? was it before the now lower receivers?
Enforcement, NOT Amnesty!!!!!!
"If they’re going to come here illegally, apply for & receive assistance through a corrupted Government agency encouraging this lawless behavior, work under the table & send billions of dollars each year back to their families in Mexico, while bleeding local economies dry, protest in our streets waving their Mexican flags DEMANDING rights, while I have to press ’1′ for English, then they need to be shipped back to where they came from!" -Chad Miller
What finish is that? Looks great! Got the cast Vision receivers and am very pleased.
Willie, 2nd Thanks its Rustoleum self etching primer looks and feels like grey anodizing , multiple coats left to set up for 3 weeks
The 601 was the rifle that was tested out by advisors in Vietnam prior to it being adopted it was before any of the improvements it had a brown bakelite stock set painted green and a smooth chrome bolt, no fence around the mag release, hole for the cover spring and a few other differences. I am trying to duplicate it on the cheap only thing I still need is a barrel or a blank I have a lathe so I can turn the pencil contour. I reproduced everything myself except for the chrome bolt carrier.
I wasn't into AR's until about a year ago
here's my attempt at a worn stock set the first pic is taken outside to show the true color
thanks for that info bubba. I never payed attention abot the m-16s back in my days. just clean, clean and clean.
