Any way to do this without a milling machine? I have a drill press and a good knowledge of metal crafting...
Uncertain how to cut rails w/o miller. Suggestions/comments?

If there is any guide that outlines what features constitute what %'s, i would be happy to classify them. If you compare this casting to a square block of metal, then 80% is a very fair comparison.

I intentionally don't classify them with 80%, 60%, 40%, 20%, or 0% because quite frankly, i have better things to do than argue with someone over a non-existent scale.

Instead, i tried to provide pictures of every angle so the buyer can decide for themselves. I also popped in a few mil spec parts so you will know what will fit with little to no fitting.

At a minimum, the buyer would need to mill the rails, slots for back strap, slot for mag catch, holes for hammer, safety, disconnector, grip bushings, and backstrap pin. There may be other holes I am forgetting. Thus the pictures.

    Thanks
    Chris

we just call them 80% because of the 80% ar-15 lowers on the market.

i don't think i have ever seen an 80% 1911 frame come to think of it.

appreciate the update Chris... This looks like a excellent opportunity for a project oriented artisan. If you believe a roto tool could substitute a milling machine for rail cuts. This could be a neat challenge. Thanks!

Are these frames still available? How many do you have? I'm ready to pick up three if possible.
