Knights Armament made the originals, though others have offered them. Dunno where to find one at present, but I do know both the upper and bolt need a bit of machine work to clear the feed lips on an AK mag.

    Pic came from here.

i have thought about getting one of those $35 forged ar blanks and giving it some cutouts for the AK mags. but i think i will wait till the 30rd mags come. i have seen some 20rd stainless for the AR-7.62 so they can't be too far behind. some outfit makes a AK/AR lower but it is like $450!! and the spare is like $250! mgi i think--

better off to buy an AK and a AR

my 7.62 m4forgery shoots and functions very well with the 10rd mags so i ain't in any rush to build a new lower just for the ak-mags. but if i had a dedicated lower for the 7.62 i could build another 5.56 upper and have a spare AR--lol

I picked up a couple of steel 30 rounders...no markings, but they are totally reliable.

I also picked up some plastic mags from Promag, they work fine for me...but are ten rounders and never, ever, slam them in...or they go deep and are a pain to get back out...

    oh well.

Still fun to play with, but if I wanna spray...it is an AK.

That is why I especially like the 9mm AR. No forward assist weird looking thing.

Simple with no gas tube and piston.

    Cheaper to plink with.

Has enough power to take out varmints.

Can put a mag full of 9mm into a 12 inch circle at 50 meters open sight.

    Smile It's beginning!! Thanks

Thank You for all the great info.

I recieved my 16" 7.52X39 upper from Del-Ton today and yesterday 3 magazines came from C-Products. Then I had to go to work to earn money to by more stuff. Tomorrow is my day off. Let the fun start.... I'm gonna shoot it and then build a custom gas block with a valve to shut off the gas. It'll be a selector from 'straight pull' single shot to semi-auto. I will be a while at the lathe & mill getting this part right. I'll keep you informed.

    Thanks again

I am very eager to hear about the C products mags. Looking at their website I only see 5 and 10 round mags. Are these what you purchased or do they now make high caps also?

I just loaded 10 in one of the mags to function test the new upper. 10 in 10 out.

    More later
    Thanks
