Default ARAMID / Carbon Fiber Lowers

    Hello All,

Has anyone had more than a years' worth of experience with a Carbon Fiber Lower? Vulcan has them (PLEASE DON'T SLAM ME!!!) for $80 apiece, and I am thinking on getting a few. The only real draw here is the reduced weight, I will be building M4 clones for my kids, and my Heavy Barrel CAR is just too much weight for them.

So, anyone who has owned and shot a lot, or anyone who has built with a Carbon Lower, I want to hear from YOU!!! Anyone who has owned or built with the Vulcan Carbon Fiber Lower, I really want to hear what you have to say!!!!

    Thanks!!!!
    Imagine whirled peas

    Peace, Love, And Superior Firepower

From what I've read Vulcan doesn't actually make the part, they just sell them.

I can't comment from experience but from what I've read, they're trash and so is the company behind them.

Hesse was so bad they had to change their name to Vulcan because no one one in their right mind would buy anything from Hesse.

How much weight are you really saving with the carbon one the normal ones are light i think your heavy barrel is you weight problem try a light barrel i bet it will make it better and you won't have a crappy lower

In this market $135 is a great deal, I was just at the Nations Gun Show in Dulles, VA; most of the vendors were gouging the consumers.

I'd hate to go against the grain here on my first post, but I've built a light-weight AR (4lbs 14.5ozs) using a vulcan carbon fiber lower and my FAL using a Hesse upper. Both rifles have fired around 500 rnds. without blowing up or falling apart. I had more trouble dealing with the supplier (JoeKen) than I had using the parts.

i saw an all plastic lower the other day for $125 i think. it was made of nylon 66 for making ultra-light ar-15's.

it would also save money as the stock set was part of the lower.

cav arms i think makes it??

the people that have them speak very highly of them . i may build on of them myself one day.

that said i am NOT a fan of carbon fiber lowers or uppers. then add to that a company that is not known for sticking to a game plan--so you get the idea.
