I have owned a full service machine Shop for 11 years now. I wont plug it because I am not a site sponsor.
I am currently thinking about producing some AR accessories and would like some input. Right now I am working on an initial run of some AR Free Float tubes. I have 2 prototypes done that are the 2" billet aluminum tube. They are heavily vented with a unique design milled into 8 locations every 45 degrees. They have mounting locations for picatinny rails in 4 locations every 90 degrees.
They will be sold in 7" carbine, 9" mid, and 12" rifle lengths. Each one will include free float tube, barrel nut, lock ring, full length picatinny rail, 3" picatinny rail, and front trim cap. All parts are mil-spec hardcoat annodized black, except the lock ring which is steel so it will be zinc phosphated coated (Parkerized).
Would there be much interest in these items if the pricing is as follows: carbine lengths $90-$100, mid lengths $105-$115, and rifle lengths $125-$135? Please keep in mind that these come with the front trim cap that other companies charge an extra $20 for.
Pic is attached below, just keep in mind these are still in the machining stages and some parts are still "in the white". The picatinny rails are not the ones that will be provided. Provided will be the flat top style without the groove machined down the center.
Thanks for your input.
