    Default McFarland Gas Rings?

Does anybody have any FIRST HAND experience with McFarland Gas Rings?

    Here is a link:

    M-15 McFARLAND GAS RING

We have had now 4 separate gas ring failures among 7 rifles in the last year. The original rings were crap, and the replacements (Although purchased from Bushmaster) also failed. I am hopeful that these will correct the issue.

    Any comments welcome...

Let me know how they work out if you get a set. I have several carriers that must of been rough on the inside as they quickly wore out the gas rings. After replacing them about twice the problem must of corrected its self as it's been a couple years since I've had to replace the gas rings. I was wondering about the one piece and also (I don't know who makes them) the standard looking gas rings that have the break in the ring at an angle so you can alternate them to pretty much eliminate any malfunction caused by the gas rings being lined up.

i bought a small bag full of armalite gas rings for DSG last year cause i just knew i was going to have a problem with some of the no-name off brand BCG's i have been getting.

so far though they have been trouble free--knock on wood!

The guys on AR-15. com hate the one piece gas rings. I don't know, I've never used them myself. I get mine from Rock River.

I have them on several builds, thousands of rounds and no probs. So whether some people hate them or not they seem to work. When I did Armalites armorers course, they even recommended them. If they don't work for you it's only a dollar anyways and maybe 2 minutes of your time.

    Thanks Gents,

I had already placed the order, but I still wanted to hear anything that might be offered up experience wise. I have been using a number of "Off-name" parts from god only knows where...Although I have found some FN parts, as well as Colt, S&W, Bushmaster,,,,mixed into the kits...

I just hate the look on my kids' face when I have to put away one of their Rifles on a bright and sunny shooting day.
