what do you want to build first?

    JSE Surplus

palmetto has some very nice prices on quality stuff too.

and that place that sell citadel barrels has some interesting 10.5" 7.62x39 barrels-- i have been so tempted to buy one for a pistol--

    Smile Bluejack..

Go with the .223 in 7" upper.. Great weapon too bring too the range.
When that bullet leaves the barrel and breaks the sound barrier.
It not only burns the hair off the guy too the left and right. They drop too the ground in pain, even with the best hearing protection.
Gives you a chance too, you know, spread you equipment out a little when the guys move.
The decibel rating is just a bit higher than an F-15 fighter jet going into full afterburner in your living room.
Congrats on the stamp. JSE is good like j4 says. Shop and take your time. Lot of good deals out there.
Jack. Get the flash enhancer. Flame thrower, noise maker combo.

    what 555th said.

your probably going to have to build a 5.45 upper. the good news is building a AR-type upper is a walk in the park.

if you short on $$ and time i would go with a 5.56 upper--

now i like the 11.5" - 12.5" lengths cause you don't lose too much and they cycle about as good as a 14.5-16"

4th likes the super shortie 7"-- cause of the loud 'blast" and flames--

the 10.4" has been popular with UDT for decades. LMT makes a very fine one if you looking for top quality stuff.

the big problem with the AR' carbines is there are so many ways you can go with it.

citadel makes a stainless 10.4" 7.62x39 barrel i have been just itching to try!--

heck-- you probably want a shortie of several flavors to add to the stamp!

    AR Complete Uppers

if you want a high end part bravo CO and lmt make some excellent SBR uppers. if i was going to buy one internet like i would go to LMTs online store, MattD tac, or Bravo co USA most likely.

JSE has a bunch of very good uppers for peanuts in 7" 7.5" and 11.5" they got a nice flattop 11.5 chrome plated bore and chamber with BCG for like $375. it has most likely a delton barrel their pretty good from what have seen.

the problem here --too many to pick from!--enjoy it while you can!

    Smile Jack..

Dont listen too them. 7" barrel is all you need. Excellent concealed carry weapon. I found the problem with the 10" is finding a decent holster.
Anyone bothers you. Hell just fire one round in the air. The bad guys will be blind deaf and dumb for the rest of the day. Giving you plenty of time too make good your escape.
I am telling yah. 7".. Wish the hell they would make a 4"..

citadel once made a 16" in 5.45x39 that could be cut back to about any length you would want for $99.

i haven't seen one in a while --but they got to be around for sale somewhere--

here is a nice little 11" upper with a N2 treated barrel for $275

Rock River Arms makes an excellent 9mm 10" upper assembly. You would have to convert the lower with an adapter to use 9mm mags however.

I think you are going to have a lot of good times with that SBR no matter what you configure it to be.
