    Question Blackout.. AR

My neighbor brought his over. All excited to shoot it..
He has other ARs. So he used one of his lowers, put the barell on and whatever else needed to make it go bang.
Explained the different rifling, twist rate, etc..
    Interesting..weapon.
    Latest rage, I guess?
Do you guys think the Military will ever pick up on these weapons?
Faster bullet, more power. What is up with these?

In my opinion for the money it is not that much better then the 7.62x39 so why spend the money and it is alot more expensive to shoot.

it's big trick is polygonal rifling. the same thing glock's use. yea it is cool. i think you gain like 30fps with it --maybe--

uncle sam is very slow to pick things up.

things i wish uncle sam would do for the grunts.

come up with a better round that penetrates better and holds up at very long range for use in LMG and assault rifle.

this is going to also require a new rifle, a new carbine, new mags and a new LMG to go with the new round as a matched set.

what were going to get is about 30 more years to shoot the 5.56--LOL!

    Default Yes..

My neighbor is serious into the ARs, like j4 serious.
Nice guy he is. But he was all excited about his new weapon.
For those who like it, please I am not putting it down.
But he lost me about 15 seconds into the conversation, about it's qualities.
Poor guy did not know he was talking too a guy, who along with his Marine Gunny Bro. Took 2 hours to get the bolt and charging handle back together.
Ah we were sipping the devils brew, no ammo nearby, saftey first.
    I do not know.
He says a bit more power and accuracy.
Might get one in a 7 1/2 inch shorty.
My shorty ARs are hitting two feet low at 100 yards.
300 yards, the bullet just stops.
The "Blackout" might be just what I need.

    LOL 3th!

AR and AK guys are a lot like raccoon hunters bragging about how good their hunting dog can tree um! lots of wind a blowing there!

though there is nothing wrong with a black rain barrel it don't offer much over other types.

it has got polygonal rifling, HK and some of the other euro makes have been making that for decades.

it might be good for 30-40FPS faster than conventional rifling.

you 7" super shortie can go through a tiger tank so why you need that extra 15 feet per second?--

i would like to have a nitride coated stainless steel barrel with poly rifling, maybe when the stimulus kicks in i can buy a few just for kicks--

Hey 4th, your shorties aren't hitting low, they're just not zeroed properly.
As for the firearm in question; a far superior weapon and round already exists. It's called the AR-10 and shoots an existing well researched round.
We could also go M1A SOCOM which would be my preference.

Hey 4th...I think the draw to these are the option of shooting subsonic ammo with a suppressor. They are pretty quiet.

just think 4th! ya can shoot the AR and not draw the game warden to your backyard!

my 9mm upper sounds like a .22LR without a can --if i ever get around to the NFA stuff it is going to get really quiet--

yea 4th we know your all into the pyro-blasting fun with super shortie but just look at the gasoline the G&F is wasting responding to all those cannon-shot reports??

    LOL!

    Smile

hunter. Just kidding on the accuracy.
I am old and blind. But in the rite "Youngguns" hands, I am sure it will reach out and touch the targets.

    Shorty, hitting at 530 yards.
    Nice weapon 555th..
    Suppressor is next.
1 million acres of forest here. We set off a firecracker and the damn game wardens show up.
Still can not figure how they know they know exactly which house to come too.
