with all the rather inexpensive free float quad rail kits out there it is rather tempting to go ape-shit and free float-quad rail/mall-ninja everything but the kitchen sink.
supposedly a free float improves accuracy.
the comp shooters pretty much use free float rails/tubes any time the rules allow.
now i have shot the old ar.m16 for eons with just the plastic GI hand-guards and have found it to be more accurate than most people can shoot.
in theory the floated barrel is a big + for accuracy. now how many have noticed an improvement with the float and how much?
i sort of think the free-float quad is more of a mall-ninja bragging rights thing than anything else --but they are handy to mount shit on.
