A heavier buffer fixed the recoil deal for me. RRA sells a drop in 9mm buffer.

9mm ARs are so cool. Especially when you are at an indoor range.

I am going to pull the buffer and weigh it. I would assume it's a 9mm buffer since it came with the lower. I still thinking the entry length tube may be too short and the bolt is bottoming out. We'll see once I pull the buffer. I may swap the tube to the standard length while I'm at it

    Scott,
I wish I knew more about 9mm AR's, but I don't have much trigger time on them.
I do have a buddy who can most likely get you sorted out though. Aaron and I have built guns together in the past and I've helped him with his internet business when he was busy. Real nice guy. (I've even packed shipments for at least one builder here.)
Send him a e-mail, or give him a call. https://vtsupply.com/

Hope you get it all sorted out buddy.

    Thanks Kenny

I get it just right. Hell that's half the fun. New to this AR thing so it's all trial and error.

i've been playing around with a 9mm 16 rifle for the last couple years same CMMG set up.

i started out with a colt xm-177 4 position stock and buffer --yea it had some recoil difficulties and the m4 recoil spring was too light, i finally put a rifle length tube, stock and spring and i added a couple weights to the rifle length buffer--

    slick and smooth now--

the thing i discovered messing the with blow backs is they respond backwards to what works on a gas operated rifle does --

sometimes putting quarters in the buffer tube seems to help by limiting bolt travel --

yep I think my trouble is I've limited the bolt travel too much. The ACE entry length tube is only 6" long. I get a nice little smack in the shoulder.

that GPI looks to be a sweet deal for a 9mm lower--

a decent mag block cost more than it does--

if your low on cash you might get by with one of those $35 pro mag 9mm mag blocks -- i think i got one laying around somewhere--lol

    Scott

nice assembly, glad you where able to sort out the kinks, never did a 9mm and Im in the middle of a 7.62 x 39mm just need the bolt. I went with Liberty up in Manatee, florida he never answers the phone so i may go with a Carson or Model 1 bolt

anyway one of these days maybe I will drive up, hook up and hit the range, sorry about the 0% dsa used to have them

    i've made my own 5.45, 6.8 and 7.62x39 bolts

i think i got one model 1 7.62 bolt that is still going those cheap 7.62 bolts are just 5.56 bolts that are opened up.

i don't think they even bother to heat treat them--
